Military memorial service planned for Thursday for 230th MP Co. Soldier

A military memorial service for Staff Sgt. James R. Ide V, 32, of Festus, Mo., is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Vogelweh Chapel in Kaiserslautern. Sergeant Ide died of wounds sustained Aug. 29 when his unit was attacked with small arms fire near Hyderabad, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Where’s The Heat?

Fall is here, and there is a chill in the air and the leaves are turning color.
So, where is the heat? Before answering that question, let’s provide some background. Most of the buildings in the KMC, including housing, are connected to central hot water heating plants. These plants produce hot water and distribute it to our buildings to provide building heat through radiators.

Ramstein joins social networking realm

Team Ramstein joined a multitude of Air Force bases and Department of Defense organizations in the social media world with the recent launch of its Facebook page.
Recognizing the capabilities of social media, DOD officials changed the policy in February to allow social media access. U.S. Air Forces in Europe followed suit in May and authorized access to more than 80 social media sites on government computers.
