Kaiserslautern Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Chapter 158 will host its 2008 Summer Technology Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ramstein Officers’ Club. This year’s Expo theme is “Winning Today’s War.”
The Expo is sponsored by USAFE/A6 and is open to all. Expo highlights include a kick-off reception from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, a networking social from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and a golf tournament from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday. More than 75 exhibitors will demonstrate the latest in biometrics, cyber security, Internet software platforms, database and operating systems, information assurance, multimedia, satellite, VoIP, data warehousing, enterprise systems management, distance learning, fiber optics, wireless/mobile communication, signal analysis, homeland security equipment, peripherals and accessories and many more.
Kaiserslautern AFCEA will host a breakfast in lieu of the monthly luncheon from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Ramstein Officers’ Club. The guest speaker will be Lt. Gen. (ret.) John Dubia, executive vice president of AFCEA International. The breakfast will precede the ribbon cutting of the Ramstein Air Base Technology Expo 2008. Kaiserslautern AFCEA will host a golf tournament at 8 a.m. Thursday (shotgun start) at Ramstein’s Woodlawn Golf Course. Fees for E7 to O10, GS 12 and above and contractors are $47; E5 to E6 and GS 6 to 11 are $45; E1 to E4 and GS 5 and below are $40. A mulligan kit is $5 per person and includes one mulligan and a two-foot string. The golf package includes a golf cart and gift bag. There will also be prizes for the longest drive and closest to pin. Fees are due by today.
