2010 Special Olympics Park and Ride

Special Olympics, an international athletic competition for children and adults with developmental disabilities, takes place Wednesday at the German Police Academy in Enkenbach-Alsenborn.

Volunteers, parents, spectators, non-accompanying school personnel and anyone else traveling to the Special Olympics must park at the Park and Ride facility. The Park and Ride  can easily be found at the Kaiserslautern Ost exit (No. 16B) off autobahn A6. The large Park and Ride area is readily seen from the autobahn coming from either direction, from Landstuhl/Ramstein or from Mannheim. For those with a GPS, enter Schweinsdell, 67657 Kaiserslautern into your system.

From the Park and Ride, shuttle busses will drive to and from the Special Olympics site. These busses will operate continuously beginning at 6 a.m. and will run until everyone is able to get back to the Park and Ride. The parking facility and the shuttle bus are both free. Most volunteers should arrive at the Park and Ride no later than 7 a.m. to ensure appropriate arrival and check in.
