As summer approaches, it is time to start thinking about Department of Defense Dependents Schools and KMC Youth Sports programs.
To help you with the required physicals, the Ramstein Clinic will be offering sports physicals to the children of families who receive their health care at the Ramstein Clinic.
This summer, two separate sport physicals dates will be conducted and both days are on a Saturday. The first physical date is June 11 and the second date is Aug. 13. The physicals will be provided in Bldg. 2114 (main clinic) from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Appointments can be made beginning Monday for the June 11 event and appointments can be made beginning July 18 July for the Aug. 13. Call 479-CARE (2273) and the appointment clerks will assist you to find an appointment that works for your children.
“Every effort will be made to have an appointment with your regular provider, and families with multiple children will be booked as close together as possible,” said Petra Pieh, appointment supervisor.
“While both days are available to all, the day in August is primarily intended to assist those families PCSing to Ramstein this summer in need of a sport physical,” said Maj. Rebecca Elliott, Family Health Clinic Flight commander. “If you are sponsoring such a family please inform them of this opportunity. If your family has been stationed here and will remain here, please use the date in June if at all possible.”
Capt. Suzanne Lewis, point of contact for both events, encourages families to arrive to their appointment 30 minutes early to complete paperwork, process through the height and weight, vision, and blood pressure stations before the actual examination by the provider. Further, it is recommended that each child undergoing an examination wears comfortable clothing, such as a T-shirt and a pair of shorts to the appointment.
“The wearing of comfortable clothing facilitates the examination and helps to keep the process on time,” said Captain Lewis.
The examination is quick, easy and valid for one year. Show time is 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
