Army Heritage Month was established in 2019 to be celebrated as an observance for all our service members both past and present, showing thanks for their service. The annual celebration marks the date in history on June 14, 1775, when the Continental Army was formed by the Second Continental Congress and commanded under General George Washington to fight against Britain for our independence.
