***image1******image2***The Commander’s Sports Trophy was recently awarded to two KMC units.
The trophy, awarded annually to the unit that accumulates the most points, is used to promote participation in intramural sports programs and recognize units that led the way.
The National League winner, for large units with 151 people or more, was awarded to the 435th Medical Group. The unit accumulated 194 points and participated in 11 of 12 sporting events offered.
Additionally, they won the Summer Basketball Tournament and the Intramural Soccer Championship and their women’s softball team placed third in the base championships.
The American League winner, for small units with 150 or less people, was awarded to the 426th Information Operation Squadron. The unit accumulated 156 points, which earned them the trophy for the third consecutive time. The squadron finished the intramural softball season as American League champions, participated in five post-season playoff championships and was the only unit to particpate in every sporting event offered.
Points are earned by completing the intramural season, for finishing league play and for placing in the top three at base championships, and for attending each Quarterly Fitness Sports Advisory Council meeting.
