News 55 QM named Runner-up for 54th Philip A. Connelly Award May 20, 2022 The U.S. Army is full of amazing Dining Facilities, but there are those that stick out from the rest – striving to push the limits to be the very best of their trade. This is why the 55th Quartermaster Company is ecstatic to be named the Regular Army Garrison Runner-Up for the Army’s 54th Philip A. Connelly Award for Excellence. It shows their handwork and dedication has been fruitful and their dining facility is headed in the right direction. The 55th Quartermaster Company is part of the 16th Special Troops Battalion (STB), 16th Sustainment Brigade, and are currently situated in Baumholder, Germany. Their Defender Cafe is renown for their culinary arts and field feeding operations. Soldiers are consistently excited to get there for all meals of the day, they know they will be in for a tasty treat. The Soldiers know their experience will be grand and of the highest quality. Some of the civilian patrons have been reoccurring guests to their dining facilities for many years and come from far distances for this exact reason. The 55th Quartermaster Company isn’t just ecstatic though. They see this Award as a motivator to continue striving towards Excellence, to continue pushing the limits, they understands that there is always room for improvement.
