The 66th Transportation Company, currently deployed in central Iraq, has been ordered to extend its mission to support Multi-National Forces-Iraq operations until early March.
The 66th TC, part of the 21st Theater Support Command, was originally slated to re-deploy to Kleber Kasern in late January.
Dec. 1, the Secretary of Defense approved the Central Command’s request that the 66th TC and several other units remain in place to support the coalition’s efforts to maintain a secure environment in Iraq during the upcoming elections.
“The 21st TSC remains committed to providing the 66th TC’s Family Readiness Group with all the support and assistance available to the command as their deployed Soldiers perform their vital role,” said a spokesman from 21st TSC public affairs.
