Baumholder Did you Know?

The USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Family & MWR is hosting a new program called “Baumholder Did you Know?” This exciting program is designed to help newcomers explore all the Family & MWR programs available in Baumholder, such as service centers, childcare, education, library, recreation, sports and fitness, hospitality, social and dining. Family & MWR Newcomer’s Scavenger Challenge

The USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Family & MWR is hosting a Newcomer’s Scavenger Challenge for the Baumholder Military Community. This exciting challenge is designed to help newcomers explore all Family & MWR programs available in Baumholder. Participants will receive a special passport listing all the programs, and can collect stamps at each facility visited to participate with a chance to win a $150 MWR Gift Card. Free Dance Lessons at Armstrong’s Club

New open session of free dance lessons every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Focus is on Country Two Step, Swing and Line Dance. Ten other styles also available upon request. No experience necessary. Classes will start up again Jan. 8. Wear smooth bottomed shoes. Rubber soled athletic shoes are not ideal for dancing. No other requirements. Staged Reading: “The Mountaintop”

The Award-Winning KMC Onstage is proud to present three staged readings of Katori Hall’s play, “The Mountaintop,” in honor of the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Black History Month. This powerful play imagines a fictional conversation between Dr. King and a hotel maid the night before his assassination, directed and read by members of the KMC Black Community. Country Night

Country Night happens every Saturday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Kazabra Club, Bldg. 2057 on Vogelweh. This is an 18+ event. Country night is an unforgettable evening filled with country music, dancing and fun. Cowboys and cowgirls can test their rodeo skills on the club’s mechanical bull, Otis. Trips are subject to change and availability. Travelers now have the ability to sign up and pick up at both locations. Winter Chai Special at Java Café

Winter Chai Specials happening at Baumholder, Landstuhl and Rhine Ordnance Barracks Java Cafés now to April 10. Winter Chai specials include Iced Chai Tea with Oat Latte and Chai Tea with Oat Latte. The Baumholder Java Café is in the CMR Building, 8661 on Smith Barracks. The Landstuhl Java Café is inside Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Bldg. 3774 on Landstuhl Post. The Java Café on Rhine Ordnance Barracks is a stand-alone Building, 273.

Valentine’s Day Celebration Dinner at the Armstrong’s Club

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with that “certain someone special” in the grand atmosphere of the Chandelier Ballroom Feb. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. Cost is 45 Euros per person. Live Music will add to the grand atmosphere. Reservations can be made until Feb. 12. Seating is at 6 p.m. and features table service, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Prix Fixe (a meal consisting of several courses served at a total fixed price). There are three choices for the main course. “Smokin’ Meats” at Armstrongs Backyard BBQ

Armstrong’s Club announces freshly smoked Brisket & Ribs pickup and takeout service starting Jan. 10. This service will be every Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the backyard of Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. Menu consists of fresh cooked smoky BBQ beef brisket and pork ribs, and traditional side dishes like homemade coleslaw and creamy mac ‘n’ cheese. Prost, Prose & Paint

The Baumholder Library and Pinsetters’ Pub are hosting Prost, Prose & Paint evenings of sip and paint with a twist of literature the third Thursday of each quarter from 6 to 8 p.m. at the pub, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks. Dates: Jan 16, April 17, July 17, and Oct. 16. This is for those 18 and older. Food and beverages are available for purchase. No outside food or beverages permitted. Heroes & Villains Epic Event

Which side are you on? Join the Landstuhl Library for an epic event celebrating Heroes & Villains from literature and fandoms with activities, crafts, games, and prizes Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to noon at the library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. All ages are invited. This is a free event and for the whole family. Whether you are a force for good or from the dark side, costumes are encouraged! The Army Community Service Army Volunteer Corps is accepting nominations for calendar year 2024 Volunteer of the Year until Feb. 7. Palentine’s Day Brunch

Join the Baumholder Library for Palentine’s Day Feb. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. What better way to celebrate your BFFL, your pally-wally, your homie and closest friends than to enjoy an afternoon of music, fun games and more! Who knows, maybe you’ll meet more friends for life! Come dressed as your favorite buddy characters, for example, Batman and Robin, The Three Amigos, and Frodo and Sam from Lord of the Rings, and win a prize. Big Game Showing at SCAC

Sembach Community Activity Center to show the Big Game Feb. 9 from 12:30 to 4 a.m. in the Presidential Ballroom, inside the SCAC, Bldg. 220 on Sembach Kaserne. Doors will open at 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older. The game will be telecasted on big screens throughout the facility, ballroom, bar, and Sembach Warrior Zone. Game day food specials. Hot dogs, chicken wings and pizza will be available for purchase, complementary popcorn and open bar. Pickleball Game Day

The Fitness, Athletics and Aquatics Program is proud to host Pickleball Game Day Friday, Feb. 7, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Sembach Physical Fitness Center, Bldg. 105 on Sembach Kaserne. The Big Game at the Landstuhl Community Club

The Landstuhl Community Club, Bldg. 3780, Landstuhl Post, is hosting a Big Game Party Feb. 9 starting at 9 p.m. This event is for all ages. Live DJ until kick-off. Drink specials. No cover charge. Shawingz will be open until midnight.

“Big Game” Mardi Gras Party in the “Big Easy”

The Baumholder Warrior Zone hosts a “Big Game” Mardi Gras Party in the “Big Easy” Feb. 9 at the Warrior Zone, Bldg. 8218 on Smith Barracks. Doors open at 11 p.m. Join them as they “laissez les bons temps rouler” (let the good times roll” and cheer on their favorite team at the Big Game playing in the “Big Easy” New Orleans Louisiana at the Caesars Superdome on the big screen here at the Warrior Zone. Weekly Yoga Classes-Tuesday & Thursday

Two new yoga classes are now available in the Baumholder community. Every Tuesday, 6:30 -7:45 p.m., enjoy Soft & Slow Yoga, and every Thursday, 6:30-7:45 p.m., Yoga Balance. Landstuhl Library Baby Brillance Storytime

Baby Brilliance Storytimes returns in September and will be held every Thursday of the month starting at 11 a.m. at the Landstuhl Library, Bldg. 3810 on Landstuhl Post. This is a fun storytime for ages birth to 18 months with songs, fingerplays and more. Signups are not required. Storytimes will not take place on Federal Holidays. Strikers Bowling Center Duty Bowl & Two for Tuesday

Duty Bowl for service members in uniform is only $5 per hour and per lane every day at the Strikers Bowling Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks in Baumholder. All Soldiers “duty” bowling must be in duty uniform. Two for Tuesday special will be $2 per game and $2 shoe rentals from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. every Tuesday. Dungeons & Dragons at Baumholder Library

Go on adventures with an intrepid crew of heroes with Baumholder Library’s Dungeons & Dragons offered every third Tuesday of the month from 4 to 5 p.m. This is for ages 9 to 14. Players can use their imagination and creativity to build the story and move the game forward. Seats are limited and registration is required.
