Kusel will hold its Italian Nights from July 2 to 3. For the sixth
year, Bahnhofstrasse and the Koch’sche Markt will turn into little
Italy where various food specialties and a diversified entertaining
program will be presented.
An Italian market will take the visitors on a trip across the Alps and offer selected culinary specialties including cheese, salami and sweet pastries. There also will be fine wines, prosecco and other drinks people can taste directly or buy and take home. Italian meals being served will include pizza, pasta, antipasti and delicacies from Sicily. A novelty this year will be the idea of preparing the biggest shish kebab based on an Italian recipe.
A Vespa (scooter) meeting will be held on Koch’sche Markt.
An Italian folk music duet will walk through the decorated streets and sing. The night of July 2, the Giovanni-Contrina Band and its singing cook will perform, and July 3, the renowned band Da Vinci, formerly known as Remax, will entertain the audience.
Like in recent years, organizers will offer a long shopping night July 3. Stores will be open until midnight.
