Now through September, the Woodlawn Golf Course offers Link Up 2 Golf, a new player program that makes learning the game easier, fun and more affordable than ever before.
This industry-wide player development initiative, operated by Air Force Services in association with the Professional Golfers’ Association of America, National Course Owners’ Association and U.S. Golf Association, focuses on bringing more players to the game and keeping them playing for a lifetime.
It’s designed to attract new golfers to the game, as well as infrequent and former golfers.
Link Up 2 Golf provides participants with a solid foundation of the golf game, including swing mechanics, etiquette, terminology, proper behavior and how to maintain speed of play.
Participants receive eight hours of small group instruction and a variety of on-course playing experiences for $99.
Prior to the clinic, participants are invited to a free orientation to learn more about the program, tour of the host facility and meet other participants. Those completing the program will receive a free polo shirt and ball mark repair tool.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to learn the game of golf, develop good skills and meet new people,” said Steve Ritz-Woller, Woodlawn Golf Course general manager. “Link Up 2 Golf provides a relaxed learning atmosphere without the intimidation factor, with emphasis on having fun.
“We are excited to be offering this program to community members for the second year, and we encourage those who sign up to bring a friend or family member.”
Woodlawn Golf Course hosts numerous events throughout the year in addition to Link Up 2 Golf, such as the Woodlawn Open July 7 to 11. This is the largest amateur golf tournament in Europe.
