The Ramstein Airman & Family Readiness Center has expanded its Spouses’ Orientation held every Monday to better meet the needs of spouses.
The expanded orientation now includes a medical right start piece in addition to helpful information on German culture and customs, recycling, shopping tips, how to save on the economy, and more.
Other topics include house hunting, comparing phone and Internet contracts, traveling, and driving in Germany.
“Spouses will want to attend as soon as possible to get all these great tips to ease their transition and help them become familiar with the local area,” said Tim Vohar from the A&FRC. “The orientation is taught by a local national and should be their first stop to find out what other great opportunities and classes there are for spouses.”
During the lunch break from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., spouses are invited to network with other spouses who have been in Germany for awhile to get extra tips and vital information.
“Lunch was really great, meeting a more experienced spouse was good,” said Lisa McGothlin, spouse of Staff Sgt. Nichholas McGothlin, who recently has been assigned to Ramstein.
If you have been in the KMC for more than six months and would like to join the group for a “no host” lunch at Chili’s, call the A&FRC to be added to the group.
The class is held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays at the A&FRC, Bldg. 2120 on Ramstein. To sign up, call the Airman & Family Readiness Center at 480-5100 or 06371-47-5100.
