Now is your chance to express your thoughts on the importance of voting by entering the 2011 FVAP Voting Slogan Contest and Poster Contest. The April 8 deadline for submissions is fast approaching.
The winning entries will be used to promote interest in the electoral process among military members, their families and U.S. citizens worldwide for the 2012 presidential election year. Participate by visiting Challenge.gov.
The FVAP Poster Contest seeks artwork illustrating the importance of voting and/or how it feels to be an American citizen voting absentee from anywhere in the world.
This artwork will be used to create the 2012 voting poster and Voting Assistance Guide cover. The FVAP Poster Contest details are located at FVAP.gov and http://challenge.gov/challenges/116. All artistic skill levels are encouraged to create and submit entries.
The FVAP Slogan Contest asks for slogan ideas that inspire members of the military, their families and U.S. citizens residing overseas to start or continue participating in elections while away from home and can be found at FVAP.gov and http://challenge.gov/challenges/115. The slogan will also be used on the 2012 voting poster.
All submissions must include your full name, branch of service, mailing address, daytime telephone number, fax number (phone and fax numbers should include all necessary country/city codes or DSN prefixes) and e-mail address (.
To submit your entry:
» Visit Challenge.gov. Use the orange “Post a Submission” button to upload your entries.
» E-mail slogan@fvap.gov. One slogan or poster per e-mail.
» Fax it to (703) 696-1352 or 426-1352. Visit the FVAP website at www.fvap.gov for international toll-free fax numbers. No cover sheet is necessary.
» Mail it to the Federal Voting Assistance Program, Attn: Voting Slogan/Poster Contest, 1777 North Kent Street, Suite 14003, Arlington, VA 22209.
The contest winner and runners-up will receive a trip to the nation’s capital to participate in special events and tours. Runners-up will receive a certificate of recognition from the department for their contribution.
There is no limit to the number of entries you may submit, but we request that all slogans and posters be submitted individually.
All entries are due by no later than April 8.
