The tradition of the German Christmas market (Christkindlmarkt or Weihnachtsmarkt) dates back to the 15th century. Today, thousands of Christmas markets all over Germany invite visitors to get into the festive mood with lights, decorations, music, and vendors selling gifts, local crafts, plenty of great food and that favorite Christmas market beverage, Glühwein. Christmas markets are a treat for all the senses — a feast for your eyes, ears, taste buds and soul.
