Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet Kitty Hawk came up with an idea to help the community in a positive and generous way. All flights were asked to bring a new toy to donate to the local orphanage.
“It is a huge opportunity to give back to the community and to help it grow,” said Senior Master Sgt. Manny Piñeiro, from the first sergeant’s group on Ramstein, when asked about his thoughts about donating toys to the orphanage. “It is good for people to help out because it makes the community stronger.”
Piñeiro was also asked what he thought of teenagers helping out with the donations.
“I think it is an amazing thing what these young people are doing and how they take time out of their schedule to donate and help out the community. How they
find time to help out and give is outstanding,” he said. “The drive was a great success and the cadets did an outstanding job, collecting two whole boxes of toys.
They really did make a difference for the less fortunate children this year for Christmas.”
