The annual Burg Jazz Festival takes place today through Sunday on Nanstein Castle in Landstuhl.
For the seventh year, the Unnerhaus Culture Club from Landstuhl organizes the event. It features blues and soul today, swing Saturday and jazz Sunday.
The festival kicks off at 8 p.m. today under the motto: “Two Ladies sing the Blues.”

In the evening, Poland’s most renowned jazz band, the Jazz Band Ball Orchestra plays. One of the most famous bands from northern Germany are on stage then, the Swingin’ Fireballs. A jam session with fireworks display closes out the swing night around midnight.
Sunday is Families Jazz Day. The festival starts off at 11 a.m. with a traditional “Frühschoppen,” early morning beer, and presentations by the Louisiana Allstars and the Unnerhaus Marching Band. Children can take place in a kids’ jazz music session and march with one of the bands all over the castle.
Bodo Jaworke and the Lulu Weiss Ensemble play gypsy jazz until 6 p.m. when the event terminates.
Palatiante food specialties and beverages are available in the castle yard, where a fest tent is set up. A wine tavern is located next to the main stage.
