Lt. Col. Lars Zetterstrom, U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern commander, will host a commander’s corner Wednesday on both American Forces Network radio and Facebook.
The forum is designed as an opportunity for KMC members to ask questions or voice local concerns. Zetterstrom will share news and information about local community programs and upcoming events. Meanwhile, the garrison team will be on hand to get timely answers, he said.
“We know that sometimes it’s difficult getting to a community town hall to raise issues,” Zetterstrom said “So we’re coming to you over the radio and the Internet.”
Tune in to AFN “The Eagle” morning show with Demarrio Spence from 7 to 8 a.m. Wednesday to take part in the radio call-in portion.
The morning show reaches thousands of listeners in the KMC, plus military audiences in Baumholder, Mannheim and Heidelberg. The frequencies are 100.2 FM, 103.0 FM and 106.1 FM. The studio hotline is 0631-536-6353.
Linking radio and the Internet is a great way to discuss topics important to the community, especially with family members who often listen to AFN and use Facebook, said Spence, host of AFN’s popular morning show.
“Folks enjoy being able to hear something on air and then interact later on,” Spence said. “Facebook allows us to do that. If you’re driving and hear a topic you want to discuss, you can go online later and ask your question.”
Afterward, from 8 to 9 a.m., the conversation goes virtual, with the commander answering questions on the garrison Facebook page, www.facebook.com/army.kaiserslautern
