Scholarships


The Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club is offering scholarships totaling
$75,000 to graduating high school seniors attending Kaiserslautern
American High School, Ramstein American High School or Baumholder High
School. Selection criteria includes academic achievement, leadership,
honors, athletics, community service, work experience and an
essay.  For additional eligibility guidelines and requirements, or

Applications are also available from the respective high school guidance counselors.

Applications are being accepted for the “Scholarships for Military
Children” Program, in its sixth year. The application period is open
now through Feb. 22. Applications are available at any commissary
worldwide, online at the Military Scholar Web site or through a link at
www.commissaries.com. Eligibility and other information is also
available at the Military Scholar Web site at www.militaryscholar.org.
Applications, which must include an essay on why the applicant admires
a great military leader (past or present), can be submitted at a
commissary by Feb. 22. At least one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded
at every commissary location with qualified applicants. Since its
inception in 2000, the SFMC program has awarded $1,500 college
scholarships to nearly 2,500 military children.

The Military Officers Association of America is offering 25
scholarships worth $1,000 each. The 2006 Base/Post Scholarship Program
is open to dependent children of active, Guard and Reserve service
personnel from the Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard, Public
Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

“scholarships and grants.” The deadline is March 1.
