With the opening of the new year comes the opening of new opportunities. Service members in the KMC will continue their diverse missions supporting three regional commands and providing top-quality strategic capabilities around the world. In 2013, KMC service members continued to answer their calling, and here are a few moments capturing their accomplishments.

The PAW program allows volunteers and their pets to visit wounded warriors to boost morale.
Airman 1st Class Kyle Rivera, 786th Civil Engineer Squadron electrical systems section journeyman, reviews fixtures needing to be replaced Aug. 19, 2013, on Ramstein. The ramp lights consist of 25 2,000-watt light bulbs that are maintained every quarter to ensure they are all in working condition.
A C-130J Super Hercules takes off from an airfield Feb. 5, 2013, in Masada, Israel. The 86th Airlift Wing conducted a flying training deployment with the Israeli air force in order to strengthen partnerships and maintain readiness for contingency operations.

The 86th Airlift Wing provides support to the NATO-led coalition augmenting Turkey’s air defense capabilities and contributing to the de-escalation of the crisis along the border.

The Soldier Ride was a unique four-day cycling opportunity for wounded warriors to use cycling and the bonds of service to overcome physical, mental or emotional wounds.
