LRMC Retiree Appreciation Week set for Oct. 14 to 16

Courtesy of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center

Retiree Appreciation Week is scheduled for Oct. 14 to 16 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

The event will include subject matter experts to discuss topics and issues relevant to the local retiree population including:

• Access to specialty care

• Transitional benefits for retirees

• Advanced medical directives and medical powers of attorney

• Long-term care capabilities for retirees in an overseas environment

• Third-party insurance and its impact on your insurance

•  What general surgery can offer you

• At-cost hearing aid program

• Panel discussions with the Divisions of Surgery, Primary Care and Medicine, the TRICARE Service Center and the LRMC Patient Advocate

First up on the agenda will be LRMC Commander Col. James Laterza who noted that although a week is being set aside to honor our local retirees, we should show gratitude to our veterans on a daily basis.

“The LRMC logo includes the words ‘selfless service,’ and that’s also an appropriate term for describing our retirees,” Laterza said. “Their service includes at least two decades of military service, and many retirees continue to serve the military many years longer as dedicated civil servants. We’re honored to provide for their medical needs, and we will continue to seek out better ways to serve them in the future.”
