Bowling center’s anniversary
The Ramstein Bowling Center celebrates its 40th anniversary with 40 cent specials. Every Monday in May, shoes; games; hot dogs, limit two; and cookies are available for 40 cents.
Mount Everest Climb Challenge
Challenge yourself by climbing Mount Everest’s 29,035 feet as many times as you can. In the Mount Everest Climb Challenge, each participant will climb the Jacob’s Ladder to accumulate as many feet as possible during the month of May. Check in at the front desk at Northside, Southside or Vogelweh fitness centers to start logging your climbs. Prizes will be awarded to the male and female with the highest number of feet climbed at the end of the challenge. Free to participate.
Memorial ruck march
The Ramstein Chief’s Group will host the first ever Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Paul Airey Memorial Ruck March/Run May 27 at Southside Fitness Center on Ramstein. The event is an opportunity to honor the first chief master sergeant of the Air Force and also test ones endurance. Teams of four and individuals can sign up for the 25 lbs 10K ruck march or the 10K or 5K running and walking events. The event costs $20 per individual or $60 per team if registered by Monday. All registered participants will receive a T-Shirt. Proceeds will be donated to the Air Force Enlisted Village.
Spring Golf Tournament
U.S. Army Warrant Officer Association Rheinland-Pfalz Silver Chapter is holding their 6th annual Spring Golf Tournament June 3 at Woodlawn Golf Course on Ramstein. Check-in will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m., and a shotgun start will be at 8 a.m. The entrance fee for members is $55 and $65 for nonmembers. Fee includes green fees, cart, admissions to the driving range and a meal.
WWGA golf tournament
The Woodlawn Women’s Golf Association will sponsor the 2016 Rally for the Cure golf tournament June 4 at the Woodlawn Golf Course on Ramstein. There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m., registration begins at noon. Fee for Woodlawn members is €60 or $60, and for nonmembers it is €75 or $75. Registration includes green fee, cart and lunch. Run 4 Robin 5K Run
Put your sneakers on and help spread the awareness of metastatic breast cancer by joining runners and walkers for the “Run 4 Robin 5K Run” June 4. This fun-filled day will be full of balloons, music and information on metastatic breast cancer. Monetary donations and contributions are welcome. All proceeds will go directly to Robin and her battle against metastatic breast cancer. Registration for the run will be held at 7 a.m. June 4 on Pulaski Barracks at the track near the soccer field. The actual run will start at 8 a.m. Awards will be given to the first-place adult male, adult female and youth ages 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. For any information, email run4robin5k@gmail.com.
Youth Sports Volunteer Fair
Are you passionate about supporting kids and enhancing their lives? Landstuhl and Sembach Youth Sports are looking for volunteer coaches to coach during the upcoming fall sports season. All adults are welcome to become a certified coach after passing a background check. Coaches are needed in several sports, including: tackle football, flag football, soccer, cheerleading and volleyball. Officials’ soccer clinic, practicum
Are you interested in becoming a certified soccer official? Installation Management Command Europe offers a free officials’ clinic from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 14 to 17 at the Sembach Religious Support Office, Bldg. 118. Open to all ID cardholders, ages 18 and older. A practicum tournament will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 18 at Landstuhl Cage Field. Summer soccer camps
Get your child into soccer this summer with SKIESUnlimited summer soccer camps. One-week camps run from June 20 to Aug. 16 on Pulaski Barracks and Landstuhl Post. Specific times and locations vary. Bodybuilding, Figure Invitational
U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz will host a Bodybuilding and Figure Invitational June 25 at the Kaiserslautern High School auditorium. Open to all ID cardholders, including active-duty military members, family members and Department of Defense civilians ages 18 and older. Entry fee: $45. Registration will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A mandatory competitors’ meeting will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The event will begin at noon. Trophies will be presented for first and second place in each weight-height division as well as an overall award for men and women. Cost for spectators: $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under. Preregistration will be open June 15 to 22. Parent exercise room
The Landstuhl and Sembach fitness centers each bring you an exercise room for parents that features the latest in cardio equipment and offers a play area for your little ones to safely play or watch movies while you work out. Chakra Yoga
