New process in place for AFPC’s civilian external vacancies

Effective Sept. 4, Air Force Personnel Center Employment Web site no longer posts or accepts resumes for external vacancies.  Applicants now need to apply via the Office of Personnel Management at the USAJOBS Web site at www.usajobs.gov.  In order to receive consideration, applicants must apply directly for vacancies in which they are interested by using the procedures contained in the “How to Apply” section of each vacancy announcement.

Some significant changes include: applicants can now store up to five resumes under OPM USAJOBS with the ability of submitting different resumes for different vacancies on the same day. Applicants may also fax application packages to OPM.

The last day applicants could self-nominate for external vacancies posted on AFPC Employment Web site was Aug. 31.  Applicants may continue to check the current status of their current self-nomination by logging into https://ask.afpc.randolph.af.milcivemploy.

Beginning the last week of September, selection officials will receive external referral certificates issued to them via the OPM USA staffing recruitment rather than the current Web certificate application. The AFPC staffing units will provide additional information and account access to selecting officials when a referral certificate is issued.
