Sankt Wendel’s second annual farmers’, crafters’ and vintners’ market will open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The city center will turn into a display window of the region. More than 120 farmers, vintners and vendors will offer high quality products from the local area.
“Nowadays, customers appreciate sustainability in cultivation, transparency in buying and short transportation ways,” said Leonie Paqué from the Sankt Wendel city marketing office.
Traditional and modern farming will be presented amidst centuries-old agricultural machines and selected animals.
Exhibitors will demonstrate how products are created, give cooking tips and pass out food samples.. Craftsmen will show off former techniques that were almost forgotten.
“Gourmets will be able to enjoy good food made of regional products,” said Paque. “Our old part of town with cozy street cafes, fine restaurants and nice stores will turn the visit of this market into a special event.”
The market will offer fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, wurst, poultry, eggs, pasta, honey, cheese, spices, herbs, marmalades, pastries, bread, liquors, wines and juices.
Parking will be available in City-Garage from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. More parking spots are available in Missionshausstrasse.
Sankt Wendel is located north of Neunkirchen, in the state of Saarland.
