“GartenZeit,” or “Garden-Time,” is the name of the flower and garden market taking place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in Rockenhausen’s Schlosspark, palace garden.
The park in the center of town, with its old trees and adjoining lily pond will turn into a meeting location for garden friends and their families. Exhibitors will present old species of fragrant roses with bushes, box trees, Hydrangeas, grass, vegetable and bed plants, herbs and spices.
The event will also display arts, crafts, fashion, house and garden accessories and organ beauty products.
Organizers expect a mix of professional and hobby artists, local exhibitors and those coming from far away to show off jewelry, ceramics, stone and metal works, felt and wooden items, paintings and sculptures. Garden and patio accessories as well as useful items will be on display. Different kinds of grills and garden tools will be presented.
Visitors can bring their sick plants and a plant doctor will give them advice. The entertainment program of GardenTime includes creative projects for children and athletic challenges for families. Admission is free.
A variety of culinary specialties and regional wines will be served.
Local stores will open from noon to 5 p.m. Interested visitors will be able to see the displays in the Museum of Time, Museum Pachen, Kahnweilerhaus and the North Palatinate Museum of local history. The city library, “Stadtbibliothek,” will offer a book flea market.
