Current off-limits list

U.S. Forces personnel are prohibited from entering establishments or conducting business with the below firms, individuals, and organizations, except as required by official business. U.S. Forces military members who violate this prohibition are subject to punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.  Civilians are cautioned these establishments have been declared off-limits to members of the Armed Forces because the commander has determined they threaten the health, safety, morale or welfare of service members.

Pumpkin Patrol

The 569th U.S. Forces Police Squadron will conduct their annual Pumpkin Patrol Oct. 31. They would like to team with the Kaiserslautern Military Community in providing a fun and safe Halloween for all of the trick-or-treaters on base. The 2017 Pumpkin Patrol will consist of joint walking patrols in and around the Vogelweh Family Housing Area, enabling a safer “Trick or Treat” event for an estimated 4,500 parents and children. Anybody interested in dedicating some of their time to this event, should sign up no later than Monday at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/508054bacaf2da5f94-vogelweh. Show time will be 4:30 p.m. outside the Youth Center Gym, Bldg. 1057, on Vogelweh Family Housing (the first traffic circle when you go through the Armstrong Gate), where volunteers will be teamed with their active duty counterparts. The community patrols will begin at 5 p.m. with an estimated completion time of 8 p.m.

New Kaiserslautern app

Smart phone users will find a new free app in their app store called “Stadt Kaiserslautern” for Android and iOS, which the city of Kaiserslautern is offering. It replaces the former Kaiserslautern-App. It offers information on eGovernment services such as appointments in the Buergercenter, waiting times and open parking spots. There are also recreational ideas, sights, guided tours and cultural events listed. With audio guides, users can listen into information on specific sights.

Retire in Germany

The next Retiree In Germany briefing will be conducted by the 86th Airlift Wing Retiree Activities Office at 1 p.m. Oct. 27 in Bldg. 2120, Room 105.  In order to attend, sign up with the RAO by calling 480-5486, or 06371-47-5486, or email at 86aw.rao@us.af.mil. Spouses are encouraged to attend.

Free layaway at KMCC

Military members, families and retirees can get a head-start on holiday shopping with fee-free layaway from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. The Kaiserslautern Military Community Center Exchange will waive the $3 service fee for items that are placed on layaway and paid for by Dec. 24, including toys and bikes. Purchases of $25 or more are eligible for the layaway plan. A deposit of 15 percent is required to hold items on layaway. Shoppers can visit customer service at the KMCC Exchange for complete program details and eligibility information.

Green Dot training

Have you taken your annual Green Dot training? If not it is not too late to sign up. This annual training increases awareness and prevention of interpersonal violence, to include sexual assault, domestic and inter-personal violence, and suicide. We are providing additional training opportunities in order to spread the Green Dot creed and culture to the entire community. this year, you have two choices for your training. If you completed the Green Dot training last year you only need to take the Green Dot Refresher training (about 1 hour). If you have never taken the Green Dot training, you need to take the Green Dot Initial training (about 1.5 hours). Civilian attire is authorized. The 86th Airlift Wing Violence Prevention Integrators want all active duty air Force members and full-time Air Force civilians and non-appropriated funds employees to get this important training completed sooner, rather than later.
