British and U.S. Airmen exchanged operational expertise Oct. 26, on Ramstein Air Base.
Royal Air Force members visited the 86th Airlift Wing’s 37th Airlift Squadron to familiarize themselves with U.S. airborne operation procedures. Loadmasters assigned to the 37th AS demonstrated their personnel airdrop techniques to the RAF Airmen.
“It was an excellent experience having our British partners over,” said U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Kyle Bennett, 37th AS loadmaster. “With events like this it’s important to have two-way communication, and that’s what we had during the crosstalk.”
Both the RAF and 37th AS operate C-130J Super Hercules aircraft. The recent meeting served as a medium of communication in which both sides can enhance their interoperability.
Bennett expressed his optimism about the dialogue, saying he learned a lot from his British counterparts.
“They shared some valuable expertise with us and we shared our knowledge with them as well,” he said. “I am confident this will lead to smoother and more effective joint operations in the future.”
