Landstuhl will once again be the stage for the castle event days May 10 through 12.
Organizers want to present the concept of a living castle this year.
The official opening of the medieval market will be at 6 p.m. May 10. Vendors will sell their merchandise and craftsmen will show off their medieval skills. Inside the tavern yard there will be musicians and dance performances. Light artists will illuminate the castle after dark. Admission on the opening day is free.
Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, castle event activities will start at 11 a.m. A parade with participants in medieval costumes will walk into the area in the afternoon. Visitors will experience how people used to live in the Middle Ages. A falconer will present his birds of prey. Children can take part in various activities such as archery, knights’ games and a swing boat.
Jugglers, market screamers and musicians will entertain the audience. Medieval eating and drinking specialties will be served. Friday and Saturday night, the castle will be illuminated.
Sunday, guided tours through the castle and the knights’ camp will start at 11 a.m.
Admission fee is €5. Children shorter than a sword will be admitted free of charge.
