Ohmbachsee will hold its 34th lake fest this weekend. For three days, three stages set up around the Ohmbachsee will be the meeting place for young and old. Experience live music from bands of various styles playing evergreens and rock classics, German folk music and party music or popular chart hits.
The event starts today, and runs from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. It will run Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
Various bands will perform each day. Double D & Friends start at 8 p.m. at the Bitburger stage, followed by Purple Haze at 10:30 p.m., Klangfabrik and Midnight Ladies will start at 8:30 p.m. on the Karlsberg and Stadtwerke Homburg stages respectively. Music entertainment on Saturday will start on the Karlsberg stage at 4 p.m. with Day Five to be followed by Disco Inferno at 9 p.m. The Bitburger stage will offer Underfrog at 5 p.m. and Fused at 10 p.m. and the Stadtwerke Homburg stage is the place for JayVee acoustics at 5 p.m. and Frantic at 10 p.m.
“Lake on Flame” will offer the interaction of music and fireworks. The special music fireworks will turn the lake into a spectacular blaze of color with soundtracks from many years.
Sunday starts at 11 a.m. with a Fruehschoppen, “musical brunch” on the Stadtwerke Homburg stage with the Almdudler Revival Band. Cha-Lounge will follow at 1 p.m. on Karlsberg stage and Black Valley will perform from 2 to 6 p.m. on Bitburger stage. MEP-Live, DaVinci and FadeOut will perform at 3 p.m. on the Stadtwerke Homburg stage, 6 p.m. on the Karlsberg stage and 7 p.m. on the Bitburger stage, respectively. The Bombshells will take over the Stadtwerke Homburg stage at 7 p.m. until 11 p.m when the lake fest will end with a magnificent fireworks display which is synchronously tuned to the great hits of the past decades.
Sunday, the Familiensonntag, “family Sunday”, is all about play, fun and entertainment for the young lake fest visitors. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to discover the joys of this event.
Food booths with regional and international delicacies are set up. Thirsty visitors will be offered non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and have the opportunity to to enjoy beers from various breweries.
A three-day ticket costs 10 euros. Friday and Saturday, the entrance fee is 7.50 euros and Sunday you will pay 5 euros. Children and teenagers up to 15 years of age will receive free entrance on all three days.
The organizers ask that guests observe the following safety regulations: bicycles cannot be taken onto the festival grounds, folding chairs to watch the fireworks are allowed, and dogs are not allowed today and Saturday after 6 p.m. Also bag checks can be carried out at the entrances.

Ohmbach lake is located northwest of Bruchmuehlbach-Miesau, between Elschbach and Schoenenberg-Kuebelberg. It is the biggest lake in the Westpfalz area with a surface of 15 hectares. Leisure activities include fishing, sailing and surfing, or renting little boats. Also, the campground at the lake offers mobile homes, apartments and Campingfaesser, a large barrel-looking wooden cabin.
