Bostalseefest July 27 to 28

The 19th Bostalseefest, lake fest at Bostal lake, will take place tomorrow to Sunday. The event is the summer’s highlight at the lake. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Bostalsee, which was founded in 1979.
The program starts Satur­day at 4:30 p.m. with the Trio Poèts Musicales on Sparkasse stage. The official opening with county commissioner Udo Recktenwald will follow at 7 p.m. Then, at 7:15 p.m. there will be hot Latino rhythms with MARQUESS, followed by De Corazóne at 9:15 p.m.
Multiple stages set up around the lake offer musical entertainment, jugglers, dance shows, culinary specialties, and an arts and crafts exhibition. The fest attracts visitors from the region and far beyond. At the market area, Kleine Marktmeile, vendors offer handmade products such as jewelry, leather goods, garden decorations, wooden toys, vintage furniture, and cards. Marktmeile opens Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at noon.
The Energis stage at the Surferbase will host the acoustic group Day 5, Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Then followed by the six-piece band Al Dente at 8 p.m. Sabrina Boncourt & Band open the program at 4:30 p.m. on Karlsberg stage. At 8 p.m., there will be authentic rock music with Delta Rock.
On Sunday, the program starts at 11 a.m. at the Musikpavillon with Two of Us at 11 a.m., Souls of Harmony at 12 p.m., and the Dance School Bootz-Ohlmann performing a dance show at 1 p.m. and Dreierpasch at 4 p.m.
The SALT sailing school will offer a free sailing course on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at noon. Meeting point is in Bosen, Am Seehafen 3. Visitors who are interested in trying out stand-up paddling can do so, courtesy of the SALT surf school, at the Strandbad Gonnesweiler, public beach facility, Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., also free of charge.
The art center Bosener Muehle invites interested visitors to the “Two Days – One Night” artists festival. Also an exhibit, Comic and Cartoons, will be presented and young and old are invited to participate in hands-on activities. On the stage at the Bosener Muehle, there is a cultural program on Saturday.
On Sunday at 3 p.m., a Brazilian folklore dance group will perform and a Brazilian wind orchestra will follow at 4:30 p.m. Then starting at 7:30 p.m. rock and pop will be played at the mill.
This year’s event will close out with a music and fireworks display at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Ticket cost is €4 for adults 16 years of age and up, children 15 years of age and younger are admitted free of charge. Parking and the use of the public beach facilities are also free of charge. To easily switch between stage locations there will be a no-cost shuttle service available that runs every 15 minutes.
Bostalsee is located approximately 55 kilometers north of Ramstein towards Trier.
Two large sandy beaches and sunbathing lawns invite you to swim, play beach volleyball or build sand castles. Enjoy free time with pedal boating, surfing and sailing, playing, hiking or cycling. Also located at the lake is a campground. The Maerchenhaeuser, fairytale homes, are special accommodations for families with children.
