KMC PT gear policy outlined

Officials have recently implemented a change to the Air Force PT gear wear guidelines within the KMC.

Whether on or off duty, all Airmen wearing the Air Force PT gear must adhere to the following guidelines: the PT uniform must be worn in its entirety – not a mix and match with civilian PT garments, shirts must be tucked in and must be worn during official PT functions, fitness assessments and as directed by unit commanders. The PT jacket is the only exception to the “mix and match” rule, and is authorized to be worn with civilian clothing.

As the colder months roll in, Airmen are also reminded that certain additions to the PT uniform are authorized in order to stay warm. Authorized clothing should be a solid color of either navy blue or back and worn under the PT uniform. This includes spandex shorts, long thermals or sweat pants, and long sleeve undershirts. Navy blue or black accessories are also authorized to include baseball caps, winter caps, headbands and gloves, and may include the Air Force logo.

AAFES is slowly beginning to offer the new PT uniform options – long-sleeve T-shirt, sweatshirt, longer shorts – which will also fall under the same rules and guidelines.
