435 AGOW Airmen highlight mission to 3 AF leadership

U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 435th Contingency Response Squadron showcase their tools and discuss their capabilities during a site visit from Maj. Gen. The squadron is equipped with air traffic control equipment, tools for rapid air field assessment as well as communications technology in order to open an operational airfield within four hours. U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Randall Reed, Third Air Force Commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Randall Kwaitkowski, Third Air Force command chief, speak with Airmen from the 1st Air and Space Communications Operations Squadron inside a deployable tent at Ramstein Air Base, March 18. Reed specifically addressed junior Airmen on how visits like these inform senior leaders on the capabilities units are developing, as well as giving Airmen a chance to voice their ideas for improvement or innovation.

Blount provided an overview of the unit’s innovative changes to make the gear more portable for quick employment.

The Installation and repair of fiber optic cables is crucial for fast communication between various service networks.

Holst explained the various communications equipment carried by tactical air control party Airmen such as wearable wire antennas that makes them a walking weapon system.
