21st TSC Soldiers train at Panzer Kaserne

Sgt. Darell Eastern, a chemical operations sergeant with the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, inspects the elastic harness straps of a M-40 series protective mask on a Soldier during sergeant’s time training at Panzer Kaserne July 30. The mask consists of a silicone rubber face piece with an in-turned peripheral face seal and a binocular rigid eye lens system. Other features include front and side voicemitters that allow better communication, particularly when operating a radio, a tube for drinking while wearing the mask, and clear and tinted eye inserts.
