Kaiserslautern app now available in English!

Whether it’s commerce, gastronomy, events, or tourism, the offerings of the Barbarossa city are abundant! To keep track of everything, smartphone users can utilize the convenient Kaiserslautern app. For some time now, this app has also been available in English, automatically adjusting to the smartphone’s default language settings.

“It was important for us to provide our many American fellow citizens and foreign guests with their own offering, to acquaint them with Kaiserslautern, its numerous events, sights, and its trade and gastronomic scene,” explains Alexander Heß, head of the city’s urban management.

Whether searching for a weekend excursion or an evening restaurant recommendation, users can find information in both German and English, as well as those looking for a specific specialty store. Thanks to many useful lists and overviews, reaching your destination is guaranteed to be swift. The app includes a yearly calendar featuring numerous event highlights, from performances at the Pfalztheater to major city events like “Swinging Lautern” or the Kerwe. Users can opt to transfer these events to their smartphone calendars. Additionally, there are overviews of various landmarks and leisure activities in the city and its surrounding region. The app covers guided tours offered by the Tourist Info as well as activities such as laser tag, golf, or escape rooms.

For shopping and gastronomy, the app provides specific subsections, each linked to the databases of the city management. Through a search function or predefined filters, users can swiftly locate a bookstore or an Italian restaurant. Another handy tool is the integrated city map, marking key landmarks, cultural institutions, and more. Those who wish can activate location services, facilitating quick navigation on the map to their desired destination. The app’s highlight includes integrated digital city coupons, offering discounts for gastronomy, retail, and services, redeemable directly through the app.

An attractive city also necessitates an attractive appearance. Hence, the app includes a practical defect notifier, allowing users to instantly report desires and suggestions encountered during their tours around Kaiserslautern — whether it’s a missing park bench or an overflowing trash bin, even accompanied by a photo if desired.
