Jan. 25, 1948, the 86th Composite Group was redesignated as the 86th Fighter Group with three squadrons and stationed at Neubiberg Air Base (near Munich). The 86th Fighter Group was the only fighter unit in USAFE at the time of its redesignation.Photo by Imperial War Museum
