The Department of Defense offers the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Overseas Program to eligible active-duty and DOD civilians assigned overseas.
WIC Overseas nutrition counselors determine eligibility for the program using
established criteria such as family size, income guidelines and other health factors.
The program is available to eligible families assigned overseas, including DOD civilian employees, DOD contractors, members of the uniformed services and their family members. Those who may be eligible for the WIC Overseas Program include pregnant women, postpartum women until their infant is 6 months old if bottle-feeding or 1 year old if breast-feeding, infants and children until age 5.
