Airman wins $1,000 for having fun

***image1***The summer just got hotter for four USAFE Services Extreme Summer participants who won $1,000 for participating in the annual points-for-participation program. The winner for the E1 to E5 category was Ramstein’s Staff Sgt. Carla Schempp, 1st Communications Maintenance Squadron.

“I can’t believe it – I had so much fun playing Extreme Summer and am so excited I’ve won $1,000 just for getting out and enjoying the summer,” said Sergeant Schempp. “Thank you USAFE Services for this awesome prize.”

Steve Jerome, 435th Services Community Support Flight chief, surprised Sergeant Schempp with a large check highlighting her win.

“The Extreme Summer program has so many amazing prizes – players can win one of the grand prizes but every month they have a chance of winning cash,” Mr. Jerome said. “Every-one should be playing, so if someone hasn’t signed up they should go to www.extremesummer.com now and get involved.”

Everyone in USAFE who enrolled in Extreme Summer and had 300 points or more in their account qualified for a random drawing in their category to win the $1,000 cash prize.

Extreme Summer is a USAFE Services annual program open to all DOD ID cardholders (8 years old and older). This unique program provides opportunities for youth, teens and adults to earn game pieces worth 50 points each for participating in summer activities. These points are then loaded into the Extreme Summer Web site at www.extremesummer.com. The more points earned, the greater your chance of winning instant prizes, monthly prizes or the overall grand prize and runner-up prizes in each category.

There are four entry categories: youth – 8 to 12 years old; teens – 13 to 18 years old; E1 to E5 and spouses; and E6 and above, all officers, civilians and spouses.
