The school lunch program is designed to meet federal requirements for nutritionally balanced meals and offer free or reduced-price meals to eligible children.
The program is available to children from all branches, attending Department of Defense Dependents schools.
To qualify for free or reduced-price meals, families need to apply on an
annual basis. As a result of applying the higher Alaska Income Eligibility Guidelines, more families may qualify for free or reduced-price school lunches.
The application form (USAFE Form 400) can be obtained at your school and your school liaison offices.
Alaska Income Eligibility Guidelines can be looked up online at www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/governance/notices/iegs/IEGs08-09.pdf.
