A pre-Christmas arts and crafts exhibition will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Ramstein-Miesenbach culture and convention center, Haus des Bürgers.
“This year, we are able to present 58 hobby artists and crafters, who (will) show off their their creative works on two floors,” said organizer Marita Altherr.
Visitors will have the chance to admire and buy items made using different techniques. They can even watch artisans, such as turners and silver smiths, show off their skills.
A builder of nativity scenes will create nativity scenes that look like huts in the Alps and a couple from Burgundy, France, will hand paint glass objects. A vintner from the Mosel River will present wines and wine jelly.
German homemade Christmas cookies will also be sold at different stands at the market.
Decoration items made of glass, porcelain, wood and other material will be available for sale.
“Shoppers might find the right Christmas present, such as jewelry made of precious metal and pearls, or works made of paper, or paintings,” Altherr said.
One exhibitor will sell homemade cookies for dogs and her creations of coats and blankets for man’s best friend.
“We have three French exhibitors and two Americans,” Altherr said. “Any American crafter who is interested in displaying items during next year’s creative market, should come and ask for me.”
As in previous years, there will be a raffle. All proceeds will go to the Ramstein-Miesenbach Hospice Aid.
Visitors can take breaks in the cafeteria and taste fresh cinnamon waffles and a large variety of homemade cakes.
Opening hours are from 1 to 6 p.m. on both days. Admission is free.
