A pre-Christmas arts and crafts exhibition will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Ramstein-Miesenbach culture and convention center, Haus des Bürgers.
“As in recent years, we again present exhibitors from the Pfalz, Hessen, Saarland and France,” said organizer Marita Altherr. “A total of 63 hobby artists and crafters will show off their creative works.”
Visitors will have the chance to admire and buy items made from different crafting techniques.
“We have crafters working at their stands demonstrating their skills,” Altherr said. “There will be one making figures from horseshoe nails, a stonemason and one lady works on a spinning-wheel making wool.”
Other artists will create jewelry, wooden items, silhouettes and children’s clothes.
Also on display will be lamps, floral items, ceramics, Danish embroidery, Nativity scenes and hand-painted china. Homemade food products for sale include vinegar, oils, Christmas cakes and cookies, chocolate figures and other kitchen delicacies. A vintner from the Mosel River will present wines and wine jelly. Children and their parents have the chance to take part in crafting workshops on the bottom floor.
“We are proud to be able to offer such a huge diversity of products,” Altherr said. “Hungry and thirsty visitors can take breaks in the cafeteria and taste fresh cinnamon waffles and a large variety of homemade cakes.”
As in previous years, there will be a raffle, and all proceeds will go to the Ramstein-Miesenbach Hospice Aid. Opening hours are from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
