Human resources specialists from the Ramstein Civilian Personnel Flight will host a civilian job application expo 7:30 to 10 a.m. March 18 and 20 at the Ramstein Library, Bldg. 409.
The expo is designed to assist applicants who are interested in applying for federal Air Force positions located in the local commuting area. The Ramstein CPF currently has vacancies in positions such as secretaries, child care professionals, medical assistants and resource advisers.
When applying for Air Force federal jobs, it is often challenging to locate a specific position on USAJOBS and, once there, navigate through this automated system. Other challenges exist with regard to eligibility documents that must be uploaded to the system as well as required self-assessment questions.
These issues can lead to missed opportunities for federal employment since incomplete applications are not forwarded for consideration. This training session is specifically designed to address these challenges and provide more employment opportunities to local applicants.
HR specialists will be on site to assist with navigating the USAJOBS automated application process. While applicants are using the USAJOBS online system, a human resources specialist will provide one-on-one assistance to answer questions and to ensure documentation is ready for upload into the automated system.
The Ramstein CPF highly recommends interested applicants attend the Airman and Family Readiness Employment Federal Job Application Process class to learn how to write resumes geared to the Air Force and get the basics of federal employment. This will ensure applicants are ready to attend the event and apply immediately for open vacancies.
The event is open to applicants who meet the following requirements:
• 18 years old or older
• U.S. citizen
• Department of Defense command sponsored
• Family member of military or civilian employees stationed in the KMC who has never worked for the government or family member on leave without pay from the U.S.
• Retired/separating military members.
The Ramstein Library has 30 computers available for use and will allow for an additional 10 participants if they bring their own laptops.
To register no later than March 14 and for more information, call 480-2052.
