Bingen – located on the Rhine River – will hold the third State Garden Fair in Rheinland-Pfalz today through Oct. 19. The first fair took place in Kaiserslautern in 2000, and the second one was held in Trier in 2004.

The fair area has a long history and is surrounded by vineyards and the UNESCO World Heritage Monument of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. On a 24-hectare area, along the 2.8-kilometer long Rhine River banks, the event offers nature, culture and a diversified entertaining program.

Visitors can enjoy park areas and sports grounds, as well as viewing platforms.
There will be an English rose garden, the gardens of the sister cities and the poets’ gardens with a view to the three tokens – Rochuskapelle (chapel), Burg Klopp (castle) and the Mäuseturm (mice tower).
