Car give-away Saturday

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service and Exchange New Car Sales are giving away a 2009 Dodge Journey SE to an authorized military shopper Saturday at the Vogelweh Exchange.

“We are excited to be a part of this great ‘Journey of Your Life’ give-away,” said Tom Gross, AAFES Kaiserslautern general manager. “Getting a new set of wheels this July can be as easy as stopping by the exchange and registering to win.”

The drawing for a 2009 Dodge Journey SE with an approximate retail value of $25,000 will be at 2 p.m. Saturday. No purchase is necessary to enter.  The event will take place with five finalists. Four finalists have been randomly picked already, but the fifth finalist will be selected from registered contestants and is open to any military ID cardholder, 18 and older who registers between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the event.  Contestants must be present at 2 p.m. to win. 

There will be entertainment and activities for the whole family and AFN will cover the event via live broadcast.  

Each finalist will be given a key to a respective 2009 Dodge Journey SE, but only one key will start the winning vehicle.  Brig. Gen. Keith Thurgood, AAFES commander, will make the official presentation.

Give-aways will include drawings for bicycles and a Labor Day get-away package for two in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
