The Middle Ages are back at Lichtenberg Castle near Kusel Saturday and Sunday when a medieval fest takes place. Vendors and craftsmen in historical costumes present and sell their merchandise. A knights camp is set up where knights present show fights. Medieval music groups and jugglers and fire-eaters entertain visitors. Food based on old recipes is offered.
Lichtenberg Castle was built in the 12th century. It is 423 meters long and one of the biggest castles in Germany. The castle is located near Thallichtenberg in the Kusel County.
