The Culinary Christmas Village in Weilerbach is open Nov. 26 to Dec. 4. Caterers in more than 35 decorated booths offer Celtic meat, Weilerbacher Christmas burgers, turkey sandwiches, salmon from the Finnish kota grill, goulash soup and homemade dumplings. Sweet delicacies include waffles, crepes and dampfnudeln with vanilla sauce. Warm drinks are Hot Hugo, riesling punch and hot chocolate.

This is the time for enthusiastic ice skaters to prepare for the opening of the “Kaiserslautern on Ice” season, which starts today. For the seventh year, a mobile ice-skating rink will be set up in the event hall of the Kaiserslautern Gartenschau. The annual ice-skating season will run through Feb. 11.
