Mission Just Us needs all of us

Mission Just Us needs all of us

Brig. Gen. Rich Johnston
KMC and 86th Airlift Wing commander

I often observe our aeromedical evacuation squadron, contingency
aeromedical staging facility, and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center
personnel assisting injured servicemembers.  As the primary aeromedical
hub for OEF and OIF, several thousand patients were aeromedically
evacuated in and out of Ramstein and I try and visit as many of the
wounded arriving or departing Ramstein as possible.

Avoiding ‘fuelishness’ saves big

Ramstein American High School students Devyn Cox, Porsche McWhorter, Brent Schuck, Phil Southard, Sierra Tate, Len Vergara and Holly Webb

The most obvious way to save money on gasoline is not to drive at all.
Although public transportation is offered in many locations and bicycle
paths are abundant in the German countryside, alternative means of
transportation are unfortunately not an option for many. When driving
is necessary, there are ways to minimize the rising cost of driving.

Binge drinking and alcohol related incidents

Master Sgt. Darren Veneman
Contributing writerMaster Sgt. Darren Veneman
Contributing writer

What are the causes of the recent increase in alcohol related
incidents? Where can we look for the causes, and what can we do to try
and curb these problems? There is no silver bullet to the age old
problem of alcoholism, but if we look at the symptoms and identify the
core issues within military culture, then maybe we can start to find a
way to reduce the problems. In my  estimation, the first issue to
address is binge drinking.

Commander’s Action Line: SECURITY AMONG THE SHELVES

Commander’s Action Line: SECURITY AMONG THE SHELVES

Today I went to the Ramstein Library to see about checking out a
book. I was told I had to fill out paperwork to do so. The paperwork
requires me to provide my name, address and social security
number. This information is not in a secured system and is a prime
opportunity for identity thieves. In this day and age of constant
warnings about the seriousness of allowing anyone
access to your social security number or any other critical personal
information because of identity theft, why would anyone have to provide
a social security number in an unsecured environment to check out a
library book?
