How Does Heat Work?

Most buildings in the KMC, including housing, are connected to central hot water heating plants. These plants produce hot water and distribute it to our buildings to provide building heat through radiators. Your radiator control will look similar to the one pictured here.

Would it be possible to remind dog owners that their dogs are supposed to be on leashes while on base? A person who I have spoken to once about this problem did not have his dog on a leash. His dog ran across the street to my dog and me, and while doing so, came within a couple of feet of being hit by a car. My concern is not only for the safety of his dog and other dogs, but also for the safety of kids playing and drivers. The drivers could swerve to miss a dog and have a wreck or hit a child or other pedestrian while doing it. I think this is a very serious safety issue that people need to consider.

6S spells success

Maj. Trey Jones
435th Communications Squadron commander

The Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems shop is a good team, filled with good people, doing good work. They wanted to raise their game to the next level, but were struggling to find the way to get there. ATCALS leadership heard the 86th Airlift Wing implemented an organizational system called 6S in their maintenance operations with great success and were willing to give it a shot.

My wife is a DODDS employee with a DODDS parking permit. Due to the new way they have the buses routed this year she has had problems with parking. Since they close the roads down, where are the teachers supposed to park? Due to all the construction on the parking lot beside the Auto Pride, this means that she would have to park a very long distance away. In cold temperatures this is not safe for her, but also my son who she brings with her. Why are the MPs not briefed since there have been many stories of parking behind the MP building that also leads to the church parking lot. As temperatures drop and roads get worse my concern is their safety and since she is entitled to park over there, what can be done?

QI have been here at Ramstein for five months now and have a question about the speed limit on the north-south road toward Mackenbach, east of the base. I have asked several Air Force members who have been here for some time and get varying answers.
