101 Critical Days of Summer kicks off

Q: Why have the designated parking areas at Donnelly Park been taken away from the families of the players?
Planners: the minds behind the scenes, the ones who can determine if
everything falls into place or falls apart. Many minds had to come
together more than nine months prior to the exercise kickoff to ensure
the 15 nations coming together to participate in the Medical Training
Exercise in Central and Eastern Europe 2008 (MEDCEUR 08) received the
best training possible.
Gen. Roger Brady, U.S. Air Forces in Europe commander, announced May
13 that Col. Bill Bender, 86th Airlift Wing commander, is designated
the KMC commander.
The senior Army commander in the KMC, Maj. Gen. Yves J. Fontaine,
commander, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, will host a 21st TSC Town
Hall Meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Kaiserslautern Community
Activities Center on Daenner Kaserne.
Tech. Sgt. Cynthia Brown, 435th Security Forces Squadron training
instructor, was nominated for the Trailblazers Recognition Award which
is one of the highest honors any military female can achieve.
A Memorial Day ceremony to commemorate the memory of the American war
dead who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom is being held at 11
a.m. May 25 at the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial in St.
Avold, France.
Last week marked the third year the Department of Defense has recognized April as Sexual Assault Awareness month.
For the past 16 years, the 435th Medical Squadron has had the privilege
of being an integral part of the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center
team. Since 1992, approximately 300 Air Force medical technicians,
nurses, doctors and support personnel have served side-by-side with
Army Soldiers, host nation personnel and American civilians at the
largest U.S. hospital and only U.S. tertiary care medical center
outside the United States.
