As the U.S. Air Force turns 60, we reflect upon the past six decades of its history. Of course, my career goes back only 26 years, but the historical gap to the start of our independent Air Force was completed when I met John De-Vore, who joined the Air Force in 1947 when it first became an independent branch of service.

735th CES employee earns thousands with IDEA

Karl Lewandowski from the 735th Civil Engineer Squadron received a
monetary award of $5,211 for an IDEA (Innovative Development through
Employee Awareness) he submitted. He made the proposal to use
slightly-used heating equipment out of a facility being demolished to
fix the heating system of another facility in need of an overhaul. 
This saved the Air Force from purchasing new equipment on the local
economy.
