Sept. 18 marks the U.S. Air Force

Civilians have come to work at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center for years.

So, why not civilian surgeons?

At precisely 4:30 p.m. on the last duty day of this month the Ramstein
Honor Guard will participate in the time-honored ceremony of lowering
and folding the U.S. flag.

Twenty-four hour news cycles and the demand for real-time data and
images dictate an adjustment in how the Air Force is organized in order
to better leverage its capabilities and provide timely and focused
information to the public, the Air Force chief of staff said recently
in a memorandum.
