One mile of cable, six pallets of equipment and three days to set up fully functioning communications for a forward base is standard work for members of the 1st Combat Communications Squadron.
At precisely 4:30 p.m. on the last duty day of this month the Ramstein
Honor Guard will participate in the time-honored ceremony of lowering
and folding the U.S. flag.
Twenty-four hour news cycles and the demand for real-time data and
images dictate an adjustment in how the Air Force is organized in order
to better leverage its capabilities and provide timely and focused
information to the public, the Air Force chief of staff said recently
in a memorandum.
The 435th Air Base Wing has a new command chief, Chief Master Sgt.
David Spector. Chief Spector took a few minutes recently to answer some
questions about his position, his expectations of the enlisted corps at
Ramstein and his leadership philosophy.
The Navy and Air Force weather communities in Europe will jointly support European Command.
Lt. Gen. Lee McFann assumed command from Lt. Gen. Glen W.
Lt. Col. Mechelle B. Hale took command of the U.S. Army Garrison
Kaiserslautern Aug. 10 at the Armstrong Community Club on Vogelweh
Housing.
