News for the Ramstein, Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl & Baumholder military communities in Germany 
Slicing through last month’s competition in Europe has earned the Kaiserslautern High School culinary team a spot at the national competition April 18 to 20 in Anaheim, California.
Ramstein High School students trained on how to establish and sustain peer-based programs helping support military children as part of the Student 2 Student program March 5 and 6 at Ramstein.
The program teaches multiple coping techniques, which can help ease the transition of military children at a new location.
On Feb. 28, over 50 students in grades kindergarten through ninth grade faced-off in the Kaiserslautern Elementary School’s gymnasium for the district’s second annual winter chess tournament. The Vogelweh Teen Center announced RianSimone Harris, daughter of Shaun and Tatineesha Harris, as the 2015 U.S. Air Forces in Europe Military Youth of the Year.
The 2015 edition of the annual Blue and Gold (the Cub Scout colors) banquet at Vogelweh Elementary School commemorated the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Boy Scouts of America and the Cub Scouts program’s 85th birthday, Feb. 22.
